Production Overview: TeoWin's Production Manager enables manufacturers to plan, control and simulate their entire production process including the management of internal and external orders, inventory, shipping labels and shipping routes.Managing and scheduling production can be difficult particular for joinery business who operate in a "Made to Order" and "Engineering to Order" environment. TeoWin Production Manager is more than a simple scheduler and unlike many scheduling systems it bases projections on resources, the combination of machines and staff, across the entire work load of a business. The system is configured specifically to the manufacturers requirements and enables a business to introduce and mange multiple production workflow situation based on specific product types. For example, a business who manufacturers kitchens and wardrobes can route the production of items that fall into to one of these categories through different routes. Within the Production Manager multiple jobs can be managed a routed based on any combination of rules to achieve production "smoothing".Before a job is entered in to the system it can be simulated to review potential bottleneck. When scheduling is undertaken the system will instantly review the production request, compare this to resources and inventory and report any issues or shortages to enable inventory and resource planning. Each production process is made of a collection of work centres.Work centres are defined with their dependencies and connections to other work centre - it is a real production line. The linking of work centres is based on either a 1 to many or many to one relationship. This means a work centre can generate half-finished products for different later work centres, or several work centres can generate half-finished products for a single later work centre. Production Managers also defines two types of activities, activities of manufacturing and activities of outsourcing. Each of these activities can changed between habitual and sporadic, so we are not locked into any single method of acquiring resources. Once a manufacturing order has been generated it is automatically passed into the production queue. The next step is the purchasing of the materials required for the job(s).From this screen it is possible to calculate requirements, generate supplier orders, monitor material inspection, control the stock, control optimization and manage outsourcing activities.Internal notification can be setup with TeoWin's email client to notify users of alters, warnings or the completion of activities, like the release of inventory from the inspection warehouse. The “Planning Environment” enables the production scheduler to view the Gantt chart based on resources or materials. In addition to looking at the availability of material, the planning process also considers the current capacity on the shop floor. For example, if we enter 100 jobs into the system and capacity for this did not exist, the system would immediately notify you of this factor. The production planner then could decide the next step. For example he could review resources based on skills and schedule more capacity via overtime. Articles, like doors etc, can be setup with default warehouse locations like main warehouse, inspection warehouse etc. so that when inventory arrives it is automatically assigned to a specific warehouse. For example if we receive doors from a supplier we will need to check them for defects before we introduce then to the main warehouse where they can be assigned to a job.If the item does not pass the inspection process, the program automatically generates a "Devolution Order" and a new supplier order for this item. TeoWin has its own email client, TeoWin Messenger. This can be used to distribute internal information about orders, alerts, warnings etc. As the various jobs move around the various work centres, staff can access their tasks via touch screens which can be integrated into many of the modern Point-2-Point and Beam Saws machines. The user can access their job list either via TeoWin's Presence Control system or via a user name and password.Once the job has been commenced the time monitor automatically commences to record the event. When the task is complete the time is recorded for the and this can be used by the business to perform reviews on theoretical costs Vs actual costs, performance bench marking analysis etc.
